LONACI prepares to host 22nd UEMOA common mass in Côte d'Ivoire

The National Lottery of Côte d'Ivoire (LONACI) has rallied participants for the successful hosting of the 22nd edition of the UEMOA common mess, scheduled for 2025 in Abidjan. As reported by AIP, this preparatory meeting for the joint lottery event was organized by national lotteries and betting companies from the eight member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA).

During the meeting held on December 9, 2024, LONACI's Director General, Dramane Coulibaly, praised the participants' commitment and emphasized the significance of this event for fostering solidarity and integration within the UEMOA region. "This gathering reflects our shared desire to strengthen cooperation and solidarity among our institutions," he stated, highlighting a collective commitment to ensure the sustainability of the organization within the region.

Coulibaly, who also serves as the president of the African Lottery Association, underscored the role of the common lottery as a strong symbol of unity and regional integration. "The common lottery is not merely a symbolic event; it embodies our shared values and collective vision to make national lotteries and betting companies pillars of socio-economic development. Solidarity is an asset within our institution," he remarked.

The two-day preparatory meeting brings together experts and representatives from various lotteries within the UEMOA space. Its goal is to outline the organizational and strategic framework for the 2025 edition to ensure its success.

In the previous edition held in Dakar in 2020, a total of 50 million FCFA was raised and donated to a health research institution in Senegal.

The UEMOA common lottery 2025 in Abidjan is expected to be a landmark event that will further consolidate national lotteries' efforts towards regional development and solidarity.
