The LONACI Foundation officially handed over 200 sports kits to referees from Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and Division 3 of Ivorian football during a ceremony at its headquarters in Deux-Plateaux-Vallons, Abidjan. The equipment, valued at 37 million FCFA, includes jerseys, tracksuits, bibs, and uniforms.

This initiative is part of a partnership agreement between the LONACI Foundation and the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), under which the foundation becomes the official sponsor of football referees. Going forward, referees will wear uniforms featuring the foundation's logo during matches.

Dramane Coulibaly, Director General of LONACI and President of the LONACI Foundation, highlighted the importance of this sponsorship in supporting referees and advancing Ivorian football. “Sponsoring referees is a significant act. It recognizes their crucial role in ensuring smooth sports competitions,” he stated. Coulibaly also thanked FIF President Yacine Idriss Diallo and his executive committee for enabling the foundation to contribute to football development in Côte d’Ivoire.

FIF President Diallo praised the partnership as a milestone for Ivorian football. He emphasized that the new kits would enhance professionalism among referees, aligning with international standards. Diallo also announced the establishment of Côte d’Ivoire’s first professional referee corps comprising 40 officials.

The event was attended by notable figures, including representatives from the Ministry of Sports, members of FIF’s Central Referees Commission, and former Ivorian football stars. This partnership marks a significant step in promoting professionalism and excellence within Ivorian football officiating.
