The Burkinabe National Lottery (LONAB) has announced financial support of 100 million CFA francs for the 35th edition of the Tour du Faso, which takes place from October 25 to November 3, 2024.

This contribution was formalized during a convention signing between the Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo, and the Minister of Sports, Roland Somda, on October 29 in Ouagadougou.

LONAB, as the official sponsor of the event, reaffirms its commitment to supporting the economic, social and cultural development of Burkina Faso. Minister Nacanabo stressed that this funding aims to strengthen the visibility and importance of the Tour du Faso, a competition that attracts international participants and contributes to national pride.

The Minister of Sports also expressed his gratitude to LONAB for its continued support for Burkinabe sport, particularly in a difficult context. He noted that this financial assistance will help overcome some of the organizational challenges related to the event. Ibrahim Zarani, Director General of LONAB, added that this partnership is essential to encourage young talents and promote cycling in Burkina Faso.

Zarani also congratulated the cyclists for their determination and thanked the clientele for their trust in LONAB. He expressed the hope that this support will contribute to the success of this edition of the Tour du Faso, while strengthening the links between the public sector and the sports world.
