Liverpool set to buy Alexander Isak
Liverpool made a $139 million bid, which was rejected as Newcastle valued the player at no less than €173 million, so that interest in the player's transfer would subside. Now Liverpool are ready to reinvest £65 million (about €74.1 million) from the sale of Diaz into buying Isak. According to Transfermarkt, the approximate cost of the player is €120 million.
Newcastle are not going to let their forward go, although Alexander Isak himself previously expressed a desire to continue his career in another club. He even received an offer from the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, but he refused, preferring to move to Liverpool. Interestingly, according to The Guardian, Al-Hilal offered Isak a contract of £600,000 per week (this amount is tax-free), while at his current club the forward receives £120,000 per week, and this is before tax and insurance contributions, the amount of which is at least 47%.
Recall that Alexander Isak played in 42 matches in all competitions in the 2024/2025 season, scored 27 goals and made 6 assists.
