Liverpool Goalkeeper Alisson Ruled Out for Six Weeks with Injury
Liverpool have suffered a major setback as first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been ruled out for around six weeks following an injury sustained in training.
According to reports, the Brazilian international will miss several crucial fixtures, including Premier League clashes and Champions League group-stage matches. His absence creates a major challenge for Jürgen Klopp’s side, who are competing on multiple fronts this season.
During Alisson’s recovery, Liverpool are expected to rely on Caoimhín Kelleher as the starting goalkeeper, with recent signing Giorgi Mamardashvili also in contention to step up. Both will have the opportunity to prove themselves in high-pressure matches.
Alisson, regarded as one of the world’s best goalkeepers, has been central to Liverpool’s defensive solidity since joining the club in 2018. His absence is likely to test the team’s depth and resilience at a decisive stage of the campaign.
Medical staff at Liverpool are confident that Alisson will return before the end of the year if his rehabilitation goes as planned.
