Liberian National Lottery Authority vows growth through tech, training and restructuring
The National Lottery Authority (NLA) of Liberia has outlined plans for growth that focus on technological advancements, staff training, and improved internal structures. Hon. Ennish L. Fahnbulleh, NLA Deputy Director General for Administration (DDGA), made the announcement during a press conference in Monrovia on Thursday, June 20th, 2024.
Mr. Fahnbulleh highlighted the importance of these measures in keeping pace with Liberia's growing gaming industry. He emphasized the need for a highly skilled workforce to manage new technologies, including advanced gaming machines and online platforms.
A key focus of the NLA's plan is to upskill its employees through intensive training programs, both locally and internationally. These programs will cover various areas, including fraud detection, game development, and staying current with industry trends. Workshops, seminars, and online courses are all part of the strategy to broaden employee knowledge and expertise.
The reintroduction of the lotto game is expected to create new job opportunities and boost revenue generation for the NLA. Additionally, revenue will be directed towards charitable causes and further development within the authority.
Mr. Fahnbulleh emphasized the commitment of the NLA to collaborate with Director General Hon. Reginald Kpan Nagbe to fast-track the establishment of the lotto game. This initiative, along with the planned improvements, is seen as a way to elevate Liberia's gaming industry to meet modern standards.
