LGRB and Ministry of Health collaborate on responsible gaming initiatives in Uganda
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) of Uganda is working to protect the public from the adverse effects of gaming. They partnered with the Ministry of Health (Mental Health Division) to hold a stakeholder meeting and training with health workers and village health teams in Kiryandongo District.
They engaged health workers and village health teams to address gaming-related issues.
The Board also collaborated with local leaders to enhance Responsible Gaming initiatives. An awareness campaign targeted Boda Boda riders in three divisions of Kampala.
Over 850 riders were reached, committing to promote Responsible Gaming.Key leaders in Eastern and Western Uganda were trained on Responsible Gaming. The NLGRB aims for a gambling sector free from harm and has an MOU with the Ministry of Health.
The Responsible Gaming engagement focused on prevention, identifying problem gamblers, counseling, and awareness creation.
