Leviatán Wins Masters London as VALORANT Enters Road to Champions Shanghai

Leviatán’s dramatic victory over Paper Rex at Masters London has reshaped the VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 storyline, turning the road to Champions Shanghai into a new test for regional strength, betting markets and esports integrity.

Leviatán has won VALORANT Masters London 2026, defeating Paper Rex 3-2 in the grand final and claiming the organisation’s first international VCT title.

The tournament, held in London from June 6 to June 21, was the second global event of the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour season and brought together 12 teams from the Americas, EMEA, Pacific and China. For Riot Games, it was also an important milestone: the UK’s debut as an international VCT host and VALORANT’s biggest event in Europe.

The final became one of the most dramatic matches of the season. Paper Rex entered the event as one of the strongest teams in the field and had already beaten Leviatán earlier in the playoffs. But Leviatán recovered through the lower bracket, eliminated several major opponents and returned to the final with momentum.

The grand final reflected that story. Paper Rex opened strongly, but Leviatán stayed alive, forced a fifth map and then delivered a dominant finish on Lotus. The 3-2 victory gave Leviatán the championship, $350,000 in prize money and eight VCT Championship Points.

Paper Rex finished second, earning $200,000 and six VCT Points. The result was still important for the Pacific team, which remains one of the strongest international rosters of the season, but the defeat also showed how difficult it is to hold momentum across a double-elimination bracket.

One of the key individual stories was Neon, who was named Masters London MVP. His performance added another layer to Leviatán’s rise, showing that the team’s title run was not only about structure and resilience, but also about individual impact under pressure.

For the VALORANT ecosystem, Masters London matters because it changes the competitive picture before the final part of the season. Leviatán now enters the next stage as one of the most important teams to follow, while Paper Rex, EDward Gaming, Team Vitality and other contenders remain central to the Champions qualification race.

The next major destination is VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai. Riot has positioned Champions Shanghai as the biggest event on the VCT calendar and the final stage where the next world champion will be crowned. Masters London therefore serves as both a title event and a preview of the teams that could define the end of the season.

For the gambling and betting industry, the London result is especially relevant. VALORANT is one of the most attractive esports titles for live betting because matches can swing quickly through economy rounds, map vetoes, agent compositions and clutch situations. Leviatán’s lower-bracket run is a clear example of how tournament momentum can shift rapidly and affect pre-match and in-play markets.

The result also reinforces the importance of reliable data and integrity monitoring. As VALORANT grows as a betting product, operators need accurate live data, strong risk tools and clear understanding of regional performance trends. International events like Masters London create high liquidity, but they also increase exposure to volatility and pricing mistakes.

From a business perspective, Masters London also demonstrated the value of live esports events in major markets. Riot combined arena competition, fan activations, co-streaming, creator engagement and digital prediction tools, turning the tournament into a broader media product rather than just a series of matches.

The conclusion is clear: Masters London did more than crown a champion. It changed the hierarchy of the 2026 VALORANT season, strengthened Leviatán’s global reputation and set up a more competitive road to Champions Shanghai. For teams, publishers, operators and betting companies, the final months of the VCT season now look even more important.
