Uganda is gearing up for a major change as ITHUBA Uganda prepares to launch the country's first National Lottery on June 1, 2024. A media briefing held today set the stage for what is expected to be a transformative moment for the nation, with high hopes pinned on the newly designated operator of the lottery.

The lottery, operated by ITHUBA Uganda Limited, aims to raise funds for sports infrastructure, particularly in light of Uganda co-hosting AFCON 2027.

He highlighted the thorough selection process for ITHUBA Uganda Limited, the anticipated positive economic impacts such as job creation and fostering local content, and encouraged responsible participation.

Michelle Van Trotsenburg, Head of Marketing Corporate Affairs at ITHUBA Uganda, spoke about the imminent launch, describing it as a pivotal moment for Uganda. She called on the public to embrace the opportunity to "dream, play, and win," signaling the start of an exciting era for the lottery.

Pre-launch festivities on Friday showcased ITHUBA Uganda's commitment to delivering thrilling lottery experiences, with guaranteed jackpots exceeding UGX 2.5 billion. Notable among these are: Lotto Jackpot: UGX 1 Billion, Powerball Jackpot: UGX 1.5 Billion, Daily Lotto Jackpot: UGX 40 Million, Sportstake 10 Jackpot: UGX 20 Million.

This venture marks a significant milestone for ITHUBA Uganda, having secured a 10-year license from the Ugandan government in August 2023. This partnership signifies a promising chapter in the relationship between Uganda and ITHUBA Uganda, a subsidiary of a leading South African company, setting the stage for a brighter future through the National Lottery.
