ISJ Angola unveils new gaming law with focus on compliance and operator standards
Angola's Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) unveiled the new Gaming Activity Law, following its recent approval by the National Assembly. The law is now pending publication in the Official Gazette.
At the presentation event for gaming operators, ISJ General Director Paulo Ringote highlighted that the new legislation facilitates the granting of licenses and establishes exclusive zones for gaming activities. It also sets forth criteria for operator exclusion and distance regulations within these zones.
Ringote emphasized the legal responsibilities of gaming house managers, stating they must understand their customers' profiles and adhere to policies aimed at mitigating money laundering risks.
The Gaming Supervision Institute (Instituto de Supervisão de Jogos - ISJ) in Angola is the primary regulatory body responsible for overseeing and licensing all gaming activities in the country, ensuring compliance with legal standards and promoting a fair gaming environment.
