India’s BGMI Scene Hits New Heights as BMPS 2026 Breaks Viewership Records
GodLike Esports’ dramatic BMPS 2026 victory in Jaipur has become a landmark moment for Indian mobile esports, with record online viewership, strong arena attendance and new international opportunities through the Esports World Cup ecosystem.
India’s mobile esports market has delivered one of its strongest signals yet after GodLike Esports won the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2026 in Jaipur.
The BMPS 2026 Grand Finals became one of the biggest BGMI events in Indian esports history. The tournament reached 729,000 peak concurrent viewers online and attracted 12,000 spectators on site at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre, showing that mobile esports in India is no longer just a digital-first product. It is also becoming a live event business with mass audience potential.
GodLike Esports’ title run added a strong sporting narrative to the event. The team started the Grand Finals poorly, finishing last on Day 1 with only 20 points. Over the following days, the squad recovered through consistent performances, climbed the leaderboard and eventually won the championship. For an organisation with one of the largest fan bases in Indian BGMI, the victory was especially important because it marked its first official BGMI title.
The tournament also showed how much the Indian BGMI ecosystem has expanded. BMPS 2026 brought together 64 of the country’s top teams across a multi-week structure before the field was reduced to 16 finalists for the LAN event in Jaipur. The final prize pool reached ₹4 crore, with GodLike Esports receiving ₹1 crore as champion.
The result has international consequences as well. GodLike Esports secured a place at the PUBG Mobile World Cup within the Esports World Cup ecosystem, while iQOO Orangutan also qualified through the KRAFTON India Esports rankings. This gives India two representatives at one of the most important global mobile esports events of the year.
For the Indian esports market, the numbers matter. A 729,000 peak viewership figure confirms that BGMI remains one of the country’s strongest competitive gaming titles. The 12,000-person arena attendance also shows that Indian esports audiences are willing to attend major LAN events when tournaments are built around strong teams, local fan culture and high-stakes international qualification.
From a business perspective, BMPS 2026 strengthens several parts of the ecosystem at once. It supports tournament organisers, venue operators, sponsors, streaming platforms, team brands, creators and data providers. It also shows that esports in India can develop beyond online viewership into a more mature event economy.
For the gambling and betting industry, the development is relevant from a market-monitoring perspective. BGMI and PUBG Mobile-style titles have large audiences, strong live-event dynamics and fast-changing match conditions. These factors can make them attractive for international esports betting products where legally permitted, but they also require reliable data, strong integrity controls and responsible market design.
The rapid growth of mobile esports also creates new compliance questions. Tournament operators and data providers must protect match integrity, while platforms and sponsors need clear rules around advertising, youth audiences and responsible engagement. India’s large mobile-first audience makes these issues especially important.
BMPS 2026 also highlights the strategic role of mobile esports in emerging markets. Unlike PC-based esports, mobile games can reach broader audiences because smartphones are already the main gaming device for millions of users. This gives India a different growth path from many Western esports markets, where PC and console titles have historically dominated.
The conclusion is clear: BMPS 2026 was not only a victory for GodLike Esports. It was a proof point for the scale of Indian mobile esports. With record viewership, strong live attendance, a major prize pool and international qualification stakes, India’s BGMI scene has positioned itself as one of the most important mobile esports markets to watch in 2026.
