India and South Africa among favorites for Men's T20 Cricket World Cup 2024
The upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup, scheduled for June 1st to June 29th, 2024, across venues in the West Indies and the United States, promises to be one of the most exciting tournaments yet. With a record 20 teams set to participate, up from 16 in the last event, the competition is expected to be fierce.
The tournament structure includes an initial phase where teams are grouped into four pools of five, with each team facing off against their pool opponents in four matches. The top two teams from each pool progress to the Super 8s round. From here, the knockout stage unfolds, culminating in the final match on June 29th, 2024, in Barbados, featuring the victors of the semi-finals.
In terms of betting odds, India emerges as the frontrunner with a 4.20 chance of claiming victory. Close behind is Australia with a 5.00 chance, followed by England, the reigning champions, who hold a 5.50 chance. South Africa is also highly regarded, sitting at 8.50 odds to win.
Among the participants, Namibia and Uganda represent Africa but are not among the heavily favored teams to clinch the title.
