“I’m not oblivious”: Antoine Semenyo addresses transfer speculation amid Man United & Spurs interest
Antoine Semenyo has acknowledged the frequent links to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur but insists he is focused on delivering for AFC Bournemouth this season.
The 25-year-old Bournemouth forward – who has been in strong form with six goals and three assists in his first nine Premier League appearances this season – admitted he is aware of the transfer talk but remains committed to his club for now. “I don’t think about it too much. I try to stay present as much as I can. You see the news all the time, I see it as well. I’m not oblivious, but I try to keep focused,” Semenyo told Sky Sports.
Reports indicate Manchester United had held early discussions with Bournemouth over Semenyo and that a release clause of approximately £70 million may apply in the summer of 2026. Tottenham are also linked with interest, though sources in the north London club reportedly paused pursuit amid high asking-price claims.
Bournemouth signed Semenyo from Bristol City in January 2023 and secured his long-term future by extending his contract until 2030. The club’s decision to hold onto one of their most in-form attackers underscores how important he is to their ambitions this season.
For Semenyo, the message is simple: while the speculation will persist, his mindset remains grounded in performance. “I’m enjoying my football here. If I’m not scoring goals, all of that goes away. I try to stay present, do the best I can for the team, score goals and whatever happens in the future happens,” he said.
