The revenue of Holland Casino, which is the monopoly operator of land-based casinos in the Netherlands, in the first half of 2023 amounted to 405.3 million euros. This is stated in the company's financial report published the other day.
The revenue generated was 15% higher than in the same period last year, when it amounted to €353.4 million.
The operator's 14 land-based casinos recorded around 2.5 million visits, 700 million more than a year earlier.
The average cost per visit was 138 euros, which is 10 euros less than in the first half of 2022. At the same time, expenses per visit exceeded the figure of 117 euros recorded in the first half of pre-pandemic 2019.
Online gambling revenue totalled €57.2 million, down 30.8% on the same period last year. The reason for the drop in revenue was the increase in competition in the online segment following its liberalisation in October 2021.
