50% of young Chileans have made online bets at least once in their lives. This follows from the results of the survey "Youth and Gambling", conducted by the General Directorate of Casino Affairs of Chile (SCJ) and the National Institute of Youth (INJUV)
Participants in the survey were 1,515 Chileans aged between 15 and 29. Among the stronger sex, 58 per cent of respondents reported experience of online gambling. Among girls, the figure was 36 per cent.
Online gambling is most popular among young people aged 20 to 24 years (52%). Next comes the age category from 15 to 19 years old (41%).
In addition, 80 per cent of survey participants said they had visited websites offering online gambling.
