Guinea’s national lottery says its scholarship programme has funded 42 Master’s students since 2023

LONAGUI says the initiative has enabled 42 Guinean students to pursue Master 1 and Master 2 studies with full tuition coverage and a monthly maintenance stipend, positioning the scheme as a flagship CSR investment in higher education.

The National Lottery of Guinea (LONAGUI) says its scholarship initiative has supported 42 Guinean students to pursue Master’s degrees (Master 1 and Master 2) from 2023 to the present, highlighting the programme as one of the lottery’s most visible contributions to higher learning and youth development.

In a recent update shared by LONAGUI, the operator framed the scheme as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), stressing that scholarship recipients receive full financing for their Master’s studies as well as a maintenance allowance during their academic pathway.

The scholarship model has been structured around annual/edition-based intakes. For example, LONAGUI’s “Edition 2” programme describes funding that fully covers Master 1 and Master 2 tuition at a higher-education institution in Guinea, with beneficiaries additionally receiving GNF 500,000 per month for 10 months per year, over two years.

LONAGUI also emphasizes selection mechanics aimed at transparency and inclusion, including the use of a public draw (lottery) among eligible candidates and reserved allocations intended to support women and vulnerable applicants, depending on the edition’s rules.

By reporting cumulative outcomes—42 Master’s students supported since 2023—LONAGUI is reinforcing a broader message common across lottery-funded social programmes: channeling gaming revenues into visible public-interest projects. If the programme continues to expand intake sizes and maintain predictable funding, it could become a reference point for how lottery-backed CSR supports human capital development in Guinea.
