Guinea Celebrates Record Lottery Jackpot of GNF 1.64 B Awarded by LONAGUI
Guinea’s National Lottery (LONAGUI) has awarded a record-breaking jackpot of GNF 1.64 billion (around €140,000), the largest prize in the country’s lottery history.
The winner, Boubacar Kouyaté, a mason from Coyah, claimed the jackpot after placing a bet of just GNF 5,000. He received his prize during a ceremony in Conakry, attended by LONAGUI executives, institutional partners and loyal players.
LONAGUI’s Director General, Mohamed Baba Sylla, described the payout as a milestone that demonstrates both transparency and credibility in the lottery’s operations. He stressed that every ticket sold supports national projects in infrastructure, sports, culture and social programs.
During the event, the kiosk operator who sold the winning ticket, Mohamed Lamine Bangoura, was also rewarded with GNF 30 million.
Kouyaté said the win would change his life, with his first goal being to build a home for his family. He thanked LONAGUI and encouraged others to keep playing responsibly.
According to LONAGUI’s board, this jackpot underlines the institution’s mission: to bring fortune to players while contributing to the country’s development.
