Google to allow gambling and betting ads in Cameroon and Namibia
Google has announced that it will open access to advertising for online gambling, sports betting, and lottery content on August 19.
Only operators that meet local licensing requirements will be able to promote such content:
- In Cameroon: permission from the Gambling Regulatory Authority (ARJ).
- In Namibia: compliance with national gambling and betting regulations.
In addition, Google will require operators to apply for certification before placing advertising content. This is done to create a more transparent and safe market for consumers and expand advertising opportunities for operators.
Google will update its advertising rules on its platform on August 19, 2025.
