Gibbs-White's Tottenham move controversially delayed

Nottingham Forest to lodge complaint with Premier League over Morgan Gibbs-White's move to Tottenham Hotspur, which they say was unlawful

Morgan Gibbs-White's move to Tottenham Hotspur has been temporarily suspended as Nottingham Forest prepare to lodge a formal complaint with the Premier League. Forest have alleged possible irregularities in the transfer process and described the other side's actions as not in line with established procedures.

Tottenham, according to sources, insist that they have complied with all regulations. The player has successfully passed his medical and is currently in the process of agreeing a contract. The nature of the claims has not yet been disclosed, but possible grounds include:
1. Conducting negotiations without the prior consent of the current club.
2. Discussing personal terms with the player before making a formal offer.

Gibbs-White's contract includes a fixed buyout clause, giving any interested club the right to initiate negotiations directly once the clause has been activated. Although early discussions of personal terms may technically be considered a breach, such practice is common in transfer activity and is widely used in the market.

The transfer currently remains in limbo pending the completion of an analysis of the complaint. As a reminder, Morgan Gibbs-White, 25, played a significant role in the performances of Nottingham Forest last season, helping the team to reach the Conference League and participate in the fight for Champions League qualification
