Ghana’s lottery chief visits China to advance digital transformation agenda
The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) of Ghana, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam, has embarked on a strategic visit to China as part of efforts to drive the Authority’s digital transformation and expand access to regulated lottery services across the country.
During the visit, Mr. Abdul-Salam held high-level discussions with officials from Genlot Game Technology and participated in the Huawei Executive Exchange, focusing on the adoption of cutting-edge lottery technologies. Key areas of interest included extending digital services to underserved rural areas and tackling challenges posed by unregulated, paper-based lottery operations.
The visit featured tours of advanced technology facilities and cultural engagements in Dongguan and Shenzhen, strengthening the NLA’s cooperation with key Chinese partners in the lottery and technology sectors.
As a next step, the NLA plans to establish a technical committee, initiate Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) discussions with Huawei Ghana, and hold follow-up talks with Genlot to finalize procurement and implementation timelines.
