Gambling tax revenues rise 17% in Colombia in eight months of 2023

Gambling tax revenues in Colombia for the period from January 1 to August 31, 2023 amounted to 564 billion Colombian pesos (US$134 million). This is stated in a report published recently by the gaming regulator Coljuegos.
Compared to the same period last year, revenue growth was 16.8%.
750 billion Colombian pesos (US$180 million) were allocated for health needs, which is 22.15% more than a year earlier.
There are currently 16 licensed online gambling operators in Colombia and two lottery operators, Baloto and SuperAstro. The country has also issued permits to operate 348 land-based gambling establishments.
Let us recall that at the end of 2022, gambling revenues reached 796.5 billion Colombian pesos, showing an increase of 18%.
