The Gambling Authority of Botswana and the Lesotho Casino Board (LCB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was formalized by Gambling Authority Board Chairman Mr. Marvin T. Torto and LCB Chairman Mr. Pokello Mahlomola.

The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in key areas including licensing and compliance, anti-money laundering efforts, responsible gambling initiatives, and capacity building through staff training, technical support, and exchanges.

“This partnership is a reflection of our shared values—good governance, fairness, and innovation,” said Mr. Torto. “We are excited to walk this journey with our Lesotho counterparts and build a stronger, more resilient regulatory environment.”

The signing followed a strategic benchmarking visit by the Lesotho Casino Board to Botswana, hosted by the Gambling Authority earlier this week. The visit, led by Gambling Authority CEO Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe and LCB Chair Mr. Mahlomola, showcased regulatory best practices and fostered cross-border dialogue.

Delegates toured leading operators including Sunbet Botswana, Betway Botswana, and Moonlite Casino, engaging in high-level discussions aimed at raising standards and ensuring player protection across the region.

This collaboration signals a united commitment to transparency, innovation, and the promotion of integrity in the gaming sector across Southern Africa.
