Gambling Authority of Botswana opens applications for digital and SMS competitions, games and quizzes
The Gambling Authority of Botswana announces that it will begin accepting applications and registrations for Digital, Virtual, Interactive, and Short Message Service (SMS) Competitions, Games, and Quizzes starting from May 6, 2024.
This notice is directed towards individuals or entities interested in conducting Digital, Virtual, Interactive, and SMS Competitions, Games, and Quizzes that involve monetary transactions or other forms of valuable consideration from participants or the general public. These competitions, games, and quizzes must be accessible through digital, virtual, interactive, and SMS platforms, offering participants the opportunity to win prizes.
The Authority encourages all those who meet the criteria to submit their applications and registrations promptly to ensure compliance with the Act and to facilitate the smooth operation of their digital ventures.
Recall that the Gambling Authority, a government agency established to oversee gambling in Botswana, regulates and oversees the development of the gambling industry. They accept and review license applications, verify information contained in applications, and issue, deny, suspend or revoke licenses.
