Gambling Authority of Botswana launches first aid training for casino employees
The Gambling Authority of Botswana has initiated a first aid training program for casino employees as part of its ongoing efforts to promote responsible gambling and ensure the safety of patrons. The program, aligned with the Gambling Act of 2012, began on November 25, 2024, and will run through the week.
The training combines theoretical and practical components, starting with an overview of the Gambling Act and its regulations. Participants engage in case studies and role-playing scenarios to acquire evidence-based knowledge, equipping them to maintain safe and responsible gambling environments.
The initiative is part of the Authority’s commitment to providing advanced and comprehensive responsible gambling programs. By integrating research, analysis, and specialist expertise, the training empowers licensees to uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance in their establishments.
The Gambling Authority of Botswana, established under the Gambling Act of 2012 and operational since April 1, 2016, serves as the regulatory body overseeing all gambling activities in the country. Its mandate includes ensuring industry compliance, fostering responsible gaming practices, and contributing to Botswana’s socio-economic development.
