The Gambling Authority of Botswana (GAB) has just wrapped up its two-day annual corporate strategy meeting, setting the stage for a pivotal year in the country's gaming industry. The event, held at Bluetree in Gaborone on March 4-5, 2025, brought together the Authority's executives and management to align on strategic approaches and develop new goals for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-2026.

On the first day of the meeting, leadership engaged in discussions to assess the current strategy and reaffirm their commitment to regulatory oversight and responsible gambling practices. The session emphasized the importance of maintaining a unified approach to achieving the Authority’s long-term vision.

The second day of deliberations focused on setting new goals and refining strategies for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. A key highlight was the Authority’s licensing update, with a total of 16 licenses issued—comprising 10 betting licenses and 6 Limited Payout Machine (LPM) licenses. Moving forward, the Gambling Authority has committed to strengthening enforcement and compliance measures while prioritizing player safety and responsible gambling initiatives.

The meeting underscored the Authority’s continued efforts to uphold regulatory standards and foster a secure and well-regulated gambling environment in Botswana.
