Gambling Authorities of Botswana and South Africa collaborate in joint regulatory workshop
This week, the Gambling Authority of Botswana partnered with the North West Gambling Board of South Africa for a joint Information Sharing Workshop. The event was aimed at strengthening the way gambling is regulated in both countries by encouraging the exchange of knowledge and practical experiences.
The workshop focused on improving regulatory effectiveness across all gambling activities. This included discussions on how best to manage casinos, Limited Payout Machines (LPMs), and bookmaker operators. Participants shared compliance strategies and operational methods that could help streamline regulatory processes.
The partnership reflects the shared goal of both regulators to keep up with the fast-changing nature of the gambling industry. By working together, they hope to build stronger systems that are better equipped to ensure fairness and protect the interests of the public.
The Gambling Authority of Botswana is responsible for overseeing and regulating all gambling operations in the country. It ensures that operators follow the law and that the industry remains fair and safe for everyone involved.
The North West Gambling Board regulates gambling activities in South Africa’s North West Province. It is in charge of issuing licences, enforcing compliance, and making sure gambling does not negatively impact the public.
