GAIME Conference 2025 in Kampala Highlights Africa’s Digital and Gaming Innovation

The GAIME Conference 2025, held in Kampala, Uganda, brought together delegates from Tunisia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, the USA, Ghana, Nigeria, and Namibia to discuss the role of technology and artificial intelligence in shaping Africa’s gaming, media, and entertainment industries.

Hosted at the Speke Resort Munyonyo on October 30–31, the event welcomed over 5,000 participants from more than 180 countries, marking one of the largest gatherings dedicated to Africa’s digital innovation. The conference positioned Kampala as a growing hub for creative technology and sustainable digital transformation.

Speakers and industry leaders explored key themes such as mobile-first infrastructure, ethical AI adoption, and the development of localized digital content. Delegates emphasized that Africa’s gaming and media ecosystems must evolve through strong connectivity, responsible regulation, and inclusive innovation.

According to organizers, the GAIME Conference has become a vital platform for advancing Africa’s global technology conversation, bridging the gap between policymakers, innovators, and private-sector investors. The event concluded with the announcement of the “Kampala Impact Charter on Collaborative AI”, a framework designed to promote responsible and cooperative AI development across African nations.

Industry experts noted that the conference reflects Africa’s growing influence in global technology and entertainment. As mobile gaming, esports, and digital media continue to expand, GAIME 2025 showcased the continent’s ambition to lead in innovation, not just participate in it.
