The Gabonese Trade Union Confederation (COSYGA), led by Secretary General Philippe Djoula, has officially affiliated and inaugurated its 42nd member federation, the Federation of Gaming and Leisure Companies of Gabon (F.E.J.L.G). This new federation encompasses the entertainment, gambling, and gaming sectors.

The installation ceremony was themed "The solidarity of workers in the entertainment, gambling, and gaming sectors in the Gabonese Republic as a source of wealth creation."

The F.E.J.L.G is committed to protecting players and promoting responsible gaming behavior within entertainment establishments. Its objectives include establishing monitoring mechanisms such as a Superior Commission for Gaming and the creation of a Mediator and a National Gaming Authority.

Eric-Serge Ouamizoumas, president of the F.E.J.L.G, highlighted the sector's growth since 1993, noting that it has become integral to Gabon's economy by providing jobs, generating revenue, and contributing to socio-economic development. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between workers and employers to foster decent work conditions and social dialogue.

During the ceremony on September 14, 2024, in Libreville, Ouamizoumas stated that this moment marks a pivotal point for the sector. He mentioned recent legislative changes that have introduced significant innovations, including online gaming regulations and measures to protect players from addiction.
Secretary Provincial André Mfoubou Nzaba urged federation members to be proactive rather than reactive in their approach to challenges. He encouraged them to listen to their colleagues and analyze their demands thoughtfully.

The newly established federation received a warm welcome, with its leaders promptly tasked with their roles following their installation by Nzaba. Jean Désiré Ekomie Émane, representing COSYGA’s Secretary General, also encouraged the executive board to uphold principles of equality and justice while actively defending workers' rights.
