Gabon Orders Gambling Operators to Join E-TECH Platform by October 1
Gabon’s Ministry of Interior has set a firm deadline requiring all gambling operators to integrate into the national platform E-TECH by October 1, 2025, or face suspension of operations.
The ultimatum, confirmed by Interior Minister Hermann Immongault, follows concerns over uncontrolled financial flows and losses in state revenue. The E-TECH platform, introduced after a Council of Ministers’ decision on August 12, is designed to centralize transactions, ensure transparency, and guarantee payouts to players.
The system also incorporates responsible gambling measures such as age verification and monitoring of problematic play. Most payment operators have already joined, but some companies continue to resist. The minister stressed that collaboration with unlicensed operators or non-approved payment providers will no longer be tolerated.
By setting the October deadline, the government aims to formalize a sector long dominated by informal practices and turn gambling into a significant source of public revenue. Operators that fail to comply risk severe sanctions, including suspension of licenses.
