French Group Partouche to open Its first casino in Benin
According to Agence Ecofin, the French leisure group Partouche will open its first casino in Benin in the coming weeks. Although no specific opening date has been announced, the venue will be located within the five-star Sofitel Cotonou Marina, which was inaugurated in December 2024.
Partouche currently operates 41 casinos, primarily in France and Belgium. Until now, its sole African establishment was in Djerba, Tunisia, making the Cotonou casino its second venue on the continent.
The group had previously attempted to establish a presence in Senegal but was unable to successfully open a casino there.
Once operational, the new casino in Cotonou—Benin's economic hub—is expected to enhance the country's appeal as a destination for gaming enthusiasts. Over recent years, Benin has implemented a wide-ranging program to boost its tourism sector by developing numerous sites, events, and infrastructure.
