First casino resort to be built in Fiji
A seven-star hotel with a capacity of 1,000 rooms, which will also operate the country's first casino, will be built in Fiji. This was announced the other day by the junket operator David Group.
Investments in the project will amount to about 900 million dollars. On the territory of the casino-resort will also be located shops, restaurants, an indoor rugby stadium and a theme park in the style of Disney. The casino resort will be built in two phases.
Only foreign nationals will be able to visit the casino. Local residents will not be allowed access to the gambling establishment.
Tax on casino income will be 4% of net profit. The casino operator will annually allocate $ 500,000 to the Ministry of Sport of Fiji for the development of mass rugby.
