ESGC Hosts 2025 Enugu State Gaming Stakeholders Forum: Regulation, Technology, and Industry Reforms Lead the Conversation

The Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission (ESGC) successfully held the 2025 Enugu State Gaming Stakeholders Forum on November 6, 2025, at the Amadeo Event Centre, Enugu — bringing together regulators, operators, investors, and technology providers from across Nigeria’s gaming sector.

The one-day event, themed “Shaping the Future of Gaming: Regulation, Technology, and Responsible Growth,” gathered over 600 participants, including senior representatives from the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, and private gaming companies.

In his opening remarks, Prince Arinze Arum, Executive Secretary and CEO of ESGC, said the forum reflected the state’s commitment to strengthening regulatory transparency and positioning Enugu as a hub for innovation in Nigeria’s gaming industry.

“We are building a forward-looking framework — one that combines robust regulation, ethical standards, and smart technology to ensure sustainable growth,” he stated.

Key sessions during the forum focused on:

  • Regulatory reforms: Updates on the harmonisation of licensing and taxation between state and federal agencies.

  • Technology integration: Adoption of AI-based monitoring systems and data analytics tools to improve compliance oversight.

  • Responsible gaming: Implementation of stronger consumer protection measures, including age verification and anti-addiction initiatives.

  • Economic diversification: Exploring gaming’s contribution to job creation, youth engagement, and tourism development in Enugu State.

Industry representatives praised the ESGC for fostering collaboration and transparency. Stakeholders agreed that the Enugu Forum has become one of the most relevant regional platforms shaping Nigeria’s gaming policy and investment agenda.
