Envy Return to Counter-Strike After Nearly Six Years With Former 3DMAX Roster

Historic esports organization Envy has returned to Counter-Strike after almost six years away, signing the former 3DMAX lineup as the French roster continues its push for a place at the Singapore Major.

Envy has officially returned to Counter-Strike, announcing on September 29 the signing of the former 3DMAX roster of Bryan “Maka” Canda, Lucas “Lucky” Chastang, Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier, Filip “Graviti” Brankovic and Jeremy “Kursy” Gast.

The move brings the North American organization back to the game for the first time since 2020, when it last operated an international Counter-Strike lineup. It also marks a return to Envy’s historic connection with French Counter-Strike.

That connection produced the biggest achievement in the organization’s Counter-Strike history. Under the Team EnVyUs name, the French roster won the DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca Major in 2015, giving Envy its only Major title in the discipline.

The newly signed team arrives with immediate competitive objectives. The roster sits around No. 21 in the global Valve Regional Standings (VRS) and remains in contention for an invitation to the Singapore Major. Its schedule before the qualification cutoff includes Stake Pulse Beat III and DraculaN Season 7.

Envy’s first tournament with the lineup is expected to be Stake Pulse Beat III, beginning October 12. Keeping the former 3DMAX five together also means the organization inherits an established roster rather than building a new team from scratch.

The comeback adds another major name to a Counter-Strike scene that has recently seen significant organizational movement. For Envy, however, the immediate priority is clear: convert its return into a Major appearance and rebuild a competitive identity around the French scene that delivered the organization’s greatest Counter-Strike success.
