Enugu State's Governor promotes gambling sector as key to Nigeria's economic future

Governor Peter Mbah of Nigerian Enugu State believes that gambling and lottery have immense potential to drive the country's economy and tourism industry. 

During the Enugu State Gaming Conference held on Thursday at Amaedo Event Centre, Mbah disclosed that Enugu is eager to drive the innovation and regulatory process in the gaming industry. 

The governor stated that the government has tapped into the gaming sector to boost its revenues and local economy. However, he urged operators and investors to embrace innovation and creativity to provide consumers with excellent services. 

Mbah advised that gaming and lottery operations should be conducted with integrity, transparency, and responsibility. He assured investors that the state government would continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive while protecting its citizens. 

The executive secretary of the Enugu State Gaming and Lottery Commission, Arinze Arum, said the conference stood as a testament to their collective commitment to the future of the gambling industry in Enugu and Nigeria. 

According to Arum, Enugu is uniquely positioned as a vibrant cultural and economic center with a rich history and dynamic population. He explained that the gaming sector has tremendous potential to contribute significantly to the state's economic prosperity. 

Arum called for prudent and transparent management of the gaming industry, emphasizing its social impact and consumer protection. He commended the state government for its support and commitment to building a unique and safe gaming destination in Nigeria.
