Dutch online gambling revenue exceeded €1.3bn in 12 months
Gross gambling revenue in the Netherlands for the period from 1 August 2022 to 31 July 2023 was €1.33 billion. This follows a report by gaming regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) published last week.
According to the contents of the document, for the period from August 2022 to January 2023, revenue increased by 33 per cent year-on-year. Meanwhile, year-on-year revenue growth slowed to 8% for the period from February 2023 to July 2023.
74% of the gambling revenue generated was attributable to online casinos.
As of July 2023, there were 826,000 active customer accounts on the websites of 27 licensed online gambling operators, down 4% from 859,000 a year earlier. On average, 417,000 Dutch residents place online bets every month.
