Dramane Coulibaly presents report for the African Lotteries Association at WLA Summit

Mr. Dramane Coulibaly, the Director General of Côte d'Ivoire National Lottery (LONACI)  and President of the African Lotteries Association, recently attended the World Lotteries Association (WLA) summit held in Paris from October 21 to 24, 2024. During the summit, he presented the activity report for the African Lotteries Association (ALA), highlighting its efforts in enhancing cooperation among member lotteries. The general assembly concluded with the election of a new executive committee, appointing Mr. Andreas Kotter as the new President of the WLA.

Mr. Coulibaly emphasized the importance of building public trust and promoting responsible practices among member organizations to drive growth in Africa's lottery industry. The summit marked a significant moment for collaboration and development within this vital sector.

The WLA serves as a global organization representing state-authorized lotteries and licensed sports betting operators, with over 150 members across 84 countries. Its mission focuses on promoting responsible gaming and initiatives that benefit the public good, having raised nearly $1.7 trillion since its establishment. Meanwhile, the ALA represents 14 lotteries from 13 African nations, aiming to foster transparency and professionalism within the continent's lottery sector.
