Côte d'Ivoire's sports clubs receive financial boost from LONACI
The National Lottery of Côte d'Ivoire (LONACI) has awarded a grant of 21 million FCFA to seven sports clubs for the 2024-2025 season. The cheque presentation, with each club receiving 3 million FCFA, took place on December 27 at the company's headquarters in Marcory.
The recipient clubs include: Union Sportive du Tchologo, Espoir Football Club de Koumassi, Sikensi Football Club, Association Sportive des Clubs de Cocody, Agir Football Club de Guiberoua, Sporting Club de Gagnoa (women's team), and Habitat Handball Club d'Abobo.
Dramane Coulibaly, the General Director of LONACI, highlighted the organization’s commitment to supporting Ivorian sports. "As a natural partner of Ivorian sports, LONACI aims to contribute whenever possible to the development of our sports. The successes of our athletes on the international stage stem from daily sacrifices made in grassroots detection and training, which is fundamentally the work of sports clubs. Together, we must elevate Ivorian sports," he stated during the cheque handover.
The event was also attended by LONACI's Deputy General Director, Abdoulkarim Ouattara, and Armand Désiré Gohourou, Executive Director of the Ivorian Football Federation.
