Côte d'Ivoire's gambling regulator partners with GIZ to combat money laundering
On December 17, 2024, the L’Autorité de Régulation des Jeux de Hasard (ARJH) of Côte d'Ivoire held a working session with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) at its headquarters in Deux Plateaux Attoban. The meeting was led by Moustapha Salhy, Director of General Resources, along with advisors and directors overseeing various departments.
The two organizations are exploring collaboration under the "Good Governance II" project, aimed at enhancing measures against money laundering and terrorist financing. This initiative could benefit regulatory authorities overseeing designated non-financial businesses and professions (EPNFD), with ARJH committing to participate.
GIZ acknowledged the needs expressed by ARJH, which will be analyzed for potential support. Both entities agreed to establish a formal communication framework for future collaboration. The GIZ delegation was led by Technical Advisor Ambûhl Roman, accompanied by his team.
L’Autorité de Régulation des Jeux de Hasard (ARJH) is responsible for regulating gaming activities in Côte d'Ivoire and ensuring compliance with legal standards. Through its partnership with GIZ, ARJH aims to strengthen its capacity to combat financial crimes in the gaming sector.
