Côte d'Ivoire lottery extends halt on new Loto Bonheur outlets

The General Direction of the National Lottery of Côte d'Ivoire (LONACI) has announced a continued suspension of approvals for new Loto Bonheur points of sale. This decision, effective February 6, 2025, extends the previous temporary halt implemented in late 2024.

LONACI officials have informed partners, clients, and the general public that the implementation of agreements concerning the opening of Loto Bonheur sales points will remain suspended until further notice. The organization has stated that no new requests for concluding agreements will be accepted during this period.

This move follows the initial suspension announced on November 29, 2024, when LONACI declared via its official Facebook page that it would temporarily cease processing new requests for approvals or machines.

LONACI, established on March 20, 1970, operates as a public limited company with majority public financial participation. With a share capital of 400 million FCFA, the organization's primary mission is to provide gaming platforms while simultaneously mobilizing public savings to fund social development initiatives.

Loto Bonheur, one of LONACI's flagship products, has gained widespread popularity as a lottery game featuring automated machines for easy and fast participation. The game has played a significant role in contributing to Côte d'Ivoire's economic and social growth.

As the situation develops, stakeholders and potential new operators are advised to stay informed about any future announcements from LONACI regarding the resumption of new Loto Bonheur point of sale approvals.
