On Monday, February 10, 2025, the National Lottery of Côte d'Ivoire (LONACI) welcomed a delegation from the National Lottery Company of the Democratic Republic of Congo (SONAL SA) as part of a benchmarking mission taking place in Abidjan from February 9 to 16, 2025. The Congolese delegation, led by Mr. Valentin Koto Yashar, Legal Advisor, engaged in discussions focused on sharing expertise and best practices in lottery management.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Abdoulkarim Ouattara, Deputy Director General, who represented Mr. Dramane Coulibaly, President of the African Lotteries Association and Director General of LONACI. Members of LONACI’s Executive Committee were also present to facilitate the exchange of knowledge.

The primary objective of this benchmarking mission is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge regarding effective lottery management strategies, governance models, and optimization techniques for games of chance. The discussions aim to strengthen collaboration between the two organizations and enhance operational efficiencies in their respective markets.

LONACI plays a pivotal role in Côte d’Ivoire by managing national lottery operations and contributing to the country’s socio-economic development through gaming revenue.

SONAL, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is responsible for regulating and operating lottery activities, aiming to promote responsible gaming and generate revenue for public welfare initiatives.
