Colombia’s lottery game SUPER Astro aims for 4.1 trillion pesos in sales by 2030

Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié announced that the popular lottery game SUPER Astro is expected to generate over $4.1 trillion COP in sales over the next five years. The game, which currently operates through 43,230 terminals across 1,102 municipalities in Colombia, accounts for nearly 13% of the national gaming market.

“Our expectation is that this significant growth in sales will result in an additional $781 billion COP in transfers to Colombia’s subsidized healthcare system over the next five years,” said Hincapié.

To achieve this target, Coljuegos is working closely with CORREDOR EMPRESARIAL S.A., the game’s concessionaire, to implement new marketing strategies aimed at attracting more players to the Astro Sol and Astro Luna draws, while also reaching new audiences.

In addition, Coljuegos has hired a new oversight firm—CONSORCIO INTERVENTORÍA ITECOPLAN—to monitor the technical, financial, and legal aspects of SUPER Astro’s operations. The interventor will ensure compliance with all contractual and technical requirements across the terminals operating in all 32 departments of the country.

“This collaborative effort between the regulator, operator, and oversight entity is essential to boosting contributions to Colombia’s public healthcare system. At Coljuegos, our mission is to maximize the funds transferred to the state through gaming exploitation rights,” Hincapié emphasized.

Between January and April 2025 alone, SUPER Astro has already transferred approximately $35.8 billion COP to the subsidized health sector.
