Coljuegos Destroys Nearly 10,000 Illegal Gambling Devices and Pushes to Block Over 27,000 Sites
Colombia’s gambling regulator Coljuegos has intensified its offensive against illegal gaming, destroying thousands of confiscated devices and expanding efforts to block tens of thousands of unlicensed websites.
According to the regulator’s latest report, nearly 10,000 illegal gambling elements — including slot machines, betting terminals, and related equipment — have been destroyed across the country as part of large-scale enforcement operations.
At the same time, Coljuegos has formally requested that internet service providers block more than 27,000 unauthorized gambling websites, a move aimed at curbing the spread of unlicensed digital operators targeting Colombian players.
Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié stressed that illegal gambling undermines public revenues, which fund health and social programs in Colombia. He underlined that dismantling underground operations and blocking offshore websites is crucial to protect players and secure tax flows.
The regulator confirmed that its campaign against illicit operators will continue with coordinated actions involving law enforcement, financial monitoring units, and telecommunications companies.
