China lottery sales up 52% in June 2023
In June 2023, Chinese people bought 48.73 billion yuan ($6.78 billion) in lottery tickets. This follows from data published recently by the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China.
Compared to the same period in 2022, sales increased by 52.4%.
Lottery ticket sales to support the sports industry rose to 30.69 billion yuan, up 62.4%.
Lottery ticket sales to support China's social security system reached 18 billion yuan, up 38% from the previous year.
Lottery sales in the six months of this year were 273.9 billion yuan, up 50.4% from last year.
