Chelsea Extend Cole Palmer Contract Until 2034 on Improved Terms

Chelsea have secured Cole Palmer’s long-term future with a new contract running until 2034, rewarding the 24-year-old with improved terms after another period of strong performances and major trophies at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have confirmed that Cole Palmer has signed a new contract until 2034, extending his previous agreement by one year and strengthening the club’s commitment to one of its most important attacking players.

Palmer had already been under contract until 2033 after signing an extension in 2024. The latest agreement comes with improved terms and follows a series of renewals for key Chelsea players, including Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto.

Since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in August 2023, Palmer has developed into a central figure in the club’s project. He has recorded 91 goal contributions in 138 appearances and helped Chelsea win both the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

His influence was particularly visible during Chelsea’s Club World Cup triumph, where he scored twice and assisted Joao Pedro in the final against Paris Saint-Germain. He had previously contributed two assists in the Conference League final against Real Betis.

Palmer has also started the 2026/27 season strongly. Chelsea reported that he had registered four goals and two assists in his opening seven matches, and shortly after signing the new deal he added another assist in the club’s 5-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth.

Head coach Xabi Alonso described Palmer as a player capable of remaining at the highest level for many years and said securing his future was important to Chelsea’s wider development. Palmer, meanwhile, said discussions with the owners, sporting directors and manager gave him confidence in the club’s direction and ambitions.

The extension underlines Chelsea’s strategy of locking key players into very long-term contracts while rewarding those who establish themselves at the centre of the sporting project. For Palmer, it provides greater financial security and confirms his status as one of the main players around whom Chelsea intends to build over the coming seasons.
