Cameroon’s Gambling Market Set to Reach US$560 Million in 2025
Cameroon’s gambling industry continues to expand steadily, with the overall market projected to reach US $560.02 million in 2025 and US $630.22 million by 2030, according to the latest Statista Market Insights report (September 2025).
The report estimates a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.39% between 2025 and 2030, confirming Cameroon’s status as one of Central Africa’s fastest-growing regulated gaming markets. User penetration is expected to reach 18.3% in 2025, with an average revenue per user (ARPU) of US $102.25, while the number of active gambling participants is projected to surpass six million by 2030.
Statista attributes this growth to a combination of factors — the rapid spread of smartphones, the rise of mobile betting platforms, and the increasing availability of high-speed internet across urban and rural regions. Younger demographics also play a key role, with many viewing online betting as both entertainment and a potential income source.
The report adds that Cameroon’s government has gradually strengthened its gambling framework, aiming to balance tax revenues with player protection and responsible-gaming standards. This has created a more stable environment for licensed operators and foreign investors exploring entry into the market.
Industry experts note that the country’s expanding digital infrastructure and tech-savvy population make Cameroon an attractive prospect for iGaming, sports betting, and mobile lottery providers targeting the Central African region.
