The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Foresight of Burkina Faso announced that the National Lottery of Burkina (LONAB) has donated 100 million CFA francs worth of food supplies to the Ministry in charge of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity. These food items will be distributed to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in five regions of the country.

The food supplies provided by LONAB consist of bags of rice, corn, oil, and soap. They are intended for IDPs in the Centre-North, North, East, Hauts-Bassins, and Centre regions. On behalf of the Centre region, the Deputy Minister in charge of the Budget, Fatoumata Bako/Traore, symbolically handed over the food supplies to her colleague in charge of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, Nandy Some/Diallo.

She stated that the allocations for the other four regions are already in place, and that the technical services of the Ministry in charge of Humanitarian Action will be responsible for distributing the supplies to the IDPs.

This initiative by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Foresight, in collaboration with LONAB, aims to provide much-needed support to the internally displaced population in Burkina Faso, who have been affected by the ongoing security challenges in the country.
