Brazil: 94% of sports betting deposits are under R$100, says Pay4Fun study
A recent study by Pay4Fun, a payment intermediary for platforms like Bet365 and Blaze, revealed that the vast majority of deposits made by Brazilian bettors in the early months of 2025 were of low value. According to data obtained exclusively by journalist Lauro Jardim of O Globo, 94% of all deposits made between January and February did not exceed R$100.
These months marked the beginning of Brazil’s newly regulated sports betting market. The data suggests that most Brazilian users are placing modest wagers, indicating a low average ticket per bettor.
In contrast, higher-value transactions remain rare. Deposits over R$1,000 accounted for just 1.4% of the total volume, while those exceeding R$2,500 represented less than 0.3%.
The figures reflect user behavior on platforms serviced by Pay4Fun and provide early insight into market dynamics following the official regulation of the sector.
