The Gambling Authority of Botswana launches Motsamiko Opepa sponsorship for advanced studies

The Gambling Authority of Botswana is offering scholarships through the Motsamiko Opepa Sponsorship program. These scholarships will cover tuition, monthly stipend, research funding, and conference attendance both locally and internationally for the entire duration of the program, contingent on satisfactory academic progress each semester.

The scholarship is open to Botswana citizens between the ages of 18 and 40 years. The application deadline is July 24, 2024.

The Gambling Authority CEO, Mr. Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe, stated that the Motsamiko Opepa Sponsorship represents a significant stride in the Authority's commitment to education, research, and sustainable development of the gambling industry in Botswana. The program will fund six master's students and four Ph.D. students, providing them with the opportunity to pursue advanced studies and receive expert supervision from the University of Botswana. 

The CEO expressed gratitude to the University of Botswana for their unwavering support in collaborating on this initiative, which aligns with the University's mandate to advance knowledge and produce graduates who contribute meaningfully to Botswana's economy.
