Botswana’s Gambling Authority CEO joins International Gaming Regulators Board
The Gambling Authority of Botswana has announced the appointment of Mr. Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe, its Chief Executive Officer, to the Board of Trustees of the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR).
This significant appointment was made during the 2024 Joint Conference of IAGR and the International Masters of Gambling Law, themed "Navigating the Future of Gaming Regulation and Law in a Transforming World." Kesitilwe's term on the IAGR Board will last four years, from October 22, 2024, to October 27, 2028.
IAGR is a leading global organization for gaming regulation, representing 78 jurisdictions and over 400 individual members. Established in 1900 as a part of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys, it became a non-profit organization in 2011. The mission of IAGR is to advocate for governments and gaming regulators while providing a platform for sharing best practices in gaming regulation.
This appointment underscores Botswana's growing influence in the international gaming sector and aims to enhance efforts in diversifying the industry, creating jobs, and boosting government revenues. The recognition of Kesitilwe's leadership reflects Botswana's commitment to responsible gaming practices and regulatory excellence on a global stage.
