The Botswana Gambling Authority recently hosted a stakeholders engagement meeting to discuss key developments in the racing and gambling industry. The event, which took place at Travel Lodge, brought together various stakeholders to discuss the impact of the recently amended Gambling Regulations.

The amended regulations, published in the Government Gazette on June 28, 2024, aim to pave the way for new opportunities in the industry. The engagement meeting provided stakeholders with crucial updates on issues affecting their interactions with the Authority.

"We are excited to bring our stakeholders together to discuss the future of racing and gambling in Botswana," said Gambling Authority CEO, Tshepang Magang. "The amended regulations present new possibilities, and we are committed to working closely with our stakeholders to ensure a diversified, compliant, and safe gambling industry."

The meeting covered new developments in the racing regulations, addressed concerns, and explored ways to enhance collaboration between the Authority and its stakeholders. Attendees included representatives from the Botswana Athletics Association, Botswana Cycling Association, Greyhound Racing Association, and other key stakeholders involved in foot, dog, car, boat, and horse racing.

"We are grateful for the valuable input and engagement from all participants," added Magang. "Their insights will be crucial in shaping the future of the industry and ensuring that we meet the needs of all stakeholders."

The Gambling Authority looks forward to working closely with the industry to explore the possibilities presented by the issuance of new betting licenses and to ensure the continued growth and development of the racing and gambling sector in Botswana.
